The accident occurred at the Desert Stanzas event when Alison tripped on an uneven pavement, resulting in injuries to her leg and hand. Alison is set to undergo further medical checks upon her return to the UK at London’s Whittington Hospital.

Despite her injuries, Alison remained resilient and even enjoyed a river cruise with her husband, actor Michael Elwyn, while seated in her wheelchair. She had been in Dubai to participate in the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and promote her autobiography, Out of Character.

Recent photos show Alison being wheeled through London’s Heathrow Airport, her wrists bandaged and her foot in a cast. Dressed in white trousers, matching trainers, a black cardigan, and a patterned scarf, she carried a backpack on her injured leg and a bumbag across her knees. Airport staff assisted her as she navigated the bustling terminal.

In her memoir, Alison reflects on her iconic role as Pamela Shipman in Gavin and Stacey, a character that endeared her to millions. She first crossed paths with the show’s creators, Ruth Jones and James Corden, while working on the ITV series Fat Friends. Their collaboration eventually led to her being cast as Pam, a role that became a cornerstone of the show’s success.

The creators’ vision extended beyond Alison, as they meticulously assembled the rest of the stellar cast, including Larry Lamb as her on-screen husband, alongside Joanna Page and Mathew Horne. Together, they brought the heartwarming and hilarious world of Gavin and Stacey to life, cementing its place as a British television classic.

Despite her recent setback, Alison’s spirit remains unshaken, and her fans continue to rally around her as she recovers from the accident.
